Some stories are written in the land itself — in the roots of an old apple tree, the shape of a forgotten orchard, the quiet craft of those who tend them. This Social House gathering celebrates the art of orchard keeping and the agricultural heritage that runs deep through the Highlands-Cashiers Plateau. Join orchardist and community advocate Lec Hobbs for an evening rooted in tradition, craft, and the remarkable story of two apples native to this region that almost slipped away forever. The Cashiers Historical Society will join us to open the evening with their knowledge of apples on the Plateau and close it out with a hands-on apple cider demonstration. Every orchard holds a memory. This one is worth knowing.
