Jacob "Val" Myers is a mountain athlete, conservationist, and author of Blue Ridge, White Desert: A Young Man's Journey Through Appalachia, Antarctica and the Self. From his teen years, he has been deeply involved in protecting the local environment through wildlife tracking, trail maintenance, and hands-on work across the Plateau. He has contributed to Friends of Panthertown and other conservation initiatives, combining his passion for the mountains with practical stewardship. Jacob's love of outdoor adventure and dedication to the land continues to inspire his work and storytelling.
