JACKSON County, NC – A Town Hall meeting with Jackson County Sheriff Doug Farmer will be held in Cashiers, NC on Thursday, August 10th, from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m.
This event will provide the opportunity to meet Sheriff Farmer and his team. The meeting will begin with a moderated session to hear about their plans and visions to keep our communities safe and secure. A Q&A session will follow to give our community the chance to make their voices heard and address any specific concerns, as well as show support for our law enforcement professionals, cementing a reciprocal relationship between our residents and those who provide protection to the Plateau and the surrounding area. The meeting will be hosted by Broker Dan Allen of Silver Creek Real Estate Group.
After more than 20 years of law enforcement service in the local area - with the Macon County Sheriff's Office and Highlands and Sylva Police Departments - as well as a year spent in Iraq training their police force, Doug Farmer was elected Jackson County Sheriff in 2022. His mission: "to provide a community driven law enforcement service concerned with meeting the needs of the public and taking proactive measures to prevent crime. Sheriff Farmer’s pledge to “protect what you value most” is already evident across the area, with an increased presence on our roads and in our neighborhoods that has resulted in a heightened sense of security for year-round residents and seasonal guests alike.
