Golf Digest magazine just published their annual list of top golf courses in the country. They list the top 100 private and public courses as judged by a panel of 900 men and women. Each course was rated on seven different criteria on a scale of 1 to 10 (10 being absolutely perfect). The seven criteria and Wade Hampton's ratings areshot value (8.12), resistance to scoring (8.01), design variety (8.16), memorability (8.31), aesthetics (8.62), conditioning (8.26), and ambiance (8.45), for a total score of 66.05. This ranking positions Wade Hampton Golf Club as number 17 of the top 100 private courses in the country.
