Highlands and Cashiers Score Big on Recent Poll of Prettiest Small Towns

Highlands Ranks #6 while Cashiers Scores #11 In North Carolina Towns With Populations of 15,000 or less

You need only catch sight of a sea of wildflowers carpeting the valley floor under a canopy of bright blue skies, or witness the sun setting over the Blue Ridge Mountains against a palette of orange, pink and fiery red. Stumble across a cascading waterfall in a seemingly ancient wood, or peer out at the glasslike surface of one of our mountain lakes under a blanket of stars. Gaze upon an elegant mountain retreat perfectly framed by lovely stone and timber accents, while surrounded by gently swaying Carolina hardwoods and the scent of native mountain laurel. Visit the Highlands-Cashiers Plateau, and you will soon understand why residents have long believed that this is one of the most beautiful corners of North Carolina (and - dare we say - the WORLD!). It wont take long before you recognize why vacationing families return here year-after-year, generation-after-generation.

Thanks to a recent poll conducted by Bill Hensley, a writer from Charlotte and former state director of travel and tourism, we now know our suspicions are correct. Hensley called upon 32 instate journalists to rank North Carolinas top small towns. The journalists were asked to select from among towns, from the coast to the piedmont to the mountains, each with populations of 15,000 or less. Highlands placed in the Top Ten at # 6 of Prettiest Small Towns in North Carolina, and Cashiers was not far behind at # 11.

Its just another great reason to add the Highlands-Cashiers Plateau to your list of places to visit! We invite you to plan a trip to see us, and judge for yourself if we make the cut of prettiest small towns in North Carolina or anywhere else, for that matter. Once youve fallen in love, like so many before you the dedicated team of brokers at Silver Creek Real Estate Group will be honored to help you and your family find the mountain retreat of your dreams in any one of our incredible communities. We welcome you to visit our website for a list of accommodations in the area or call us at 828-743-1999 with any additional questions you may have.

The brokers and staff at Silver Creek Real Estate Group wish to congratulate Cashiers and Highlands for achieving this great distinction!

* Special Thanks to David Joy and the rest of our Friends at the Crossroads Chronicle for providing the details surrounding the rankings!
